The Next Christian Response

9 years ago about this time, buildings were falling in NYC.  Since that time Islam in the American psyche has reached a fevered pitch and American Christians have spiraled downward in their 'love for neighbor' and 'compassion for all.'  It's time to take stock, and make some decisions.  If we expect to get different results than we've been gettin' we can't keep doin' what we've been doin'.  The judgmentalism and passive, albeit, sometimes blatant, hatred must stop.  I refer you to a well written CT article today.  Some great historical perspective, and a pertinent biblical challenge:

"Like the apostle Paul, we no longer regard anyone from a worldly point of view. In our relationship with American Muslims, we must give concrete form to our calling as servants of reconciliation and ambassadors for Christ (2 Cor. 5:16-20)."  "The Next Christian Response" Christianity Today Sep 11, 2010.

I'd encourage you especially today, imagine what American Muslims must feel on a day like this, where much of a nation blames them for a trajedy they deplore just as much as you.  What would you want someone to say to you?  How can you be 'minister of reconciliation' today?
