Human Trafficking in the Middle East

A recent CNN article discusses the issue of human trafficking in Palestine.  This is the first report of it's kind, written by a non-profit Palestinian group.  It saddens one to hear of such tragedy, and reminds us that whatever appearances there are on the surface, 'Christian' or 'Muslim' societies both have problems with sin.  The answer for both is relationship with the Messiah.

The Islamic world often puts forth the image of solidarity, morality, and religiosity, but in truth the Islamic world is really not much different than the Western, 'Christian' world.  Prostitution, Human trafficking and pornography are all huge issues in the Islamic world, and many Muslims blame Western influence for these problems. These issues however are problems with human nature, they are not isolated to just the West... One difference perhaps is that Muslims don't discuss the shameful elements of their societies like we do, many times unabashedly, in the West.  It would appear from Western media that sex, drugs, violence, porn and other immoralities are commonplace and normal.  Sadly, this is how the Muslim world sees Christianity as it has labeled the West.

Let's pray for and seek opportunities to be Christ's light in the midst of evil both at home and abroad.
